VOCHEI’s Scholarship for Haitians migrated to United State within January 2023 through June 2024 who reside in New England, New York, and New Jersey. Proof of enrollment in a school, has at least 6 months left in school, two letters of reference one personal and one from an educational institution, essay demonstrating leadership and community service: a minimum of two hundred fifty words written in French or English double space typed.

    There are three Scholarships:

    Jean-Jacques Dessalines Memorial Scholarship for $1000 (male or female)
    Named after the first president of Haiti: A leader of the Haitian Revolution, spearheaded the resistance against Napoleon army, and won first country in the Americas to abolish slavery.

    Legrand Augustave Memorial Scholarship $500 a male applicant
    Co-founder of first public school in Cabaret: Notre Dame Du Mont Carmel, established entertainment for the youth (Dance competition, Carnival, Kermesse).

    Marie Nemonise(Madame Colbert) Bien-Aime Memorial Scholarship $500 a female applicant
    Co-founder of CHREPROF of Cabaret (C-Centre H- Haitien RE: Recherché pour la PRO-Promotion de la F- Femme), a feminist activist movement for promoting women, under her leadership she endorsed women’s education and trades such as cooking, carpentry, seamstress, farming, & agriculture.
